Why We Created Lillepin
Understanding your health shouldn’t require a medical degree.
Every day, millions of people search for answers about menopause, andropause, hormones, healthy ageing, metabolism, sleep, brain fog, and the many changes that can happen as we move through midlife. Too often, they find information that is confusing, contradictory, or written in language that’s difficult to understand.
Lillepin was created to bridge that gap.
We believe you deserve health information that is clear, balanced, and grounded in evidence. Information that explains rather than overwhelms. Information that helps you understand what’s happening in your body without creating unnecessary fear or making unrealistic promises.
Whether you’re looking for answers about menopause, healthy ageing, women’s health, men’s health, or the latest research, every Lillepin article is written to help you better understand your health.
We don’t believe understanding should stop at simply answering a question. We believe it should give you the confidence to have better conversations with the healthcare professionals who care for you.
That’s why every article begins with the same goal:
To explain health in a way that is clear, thoughtful and genuinely useful.
How Lillepin Works
Every article published on Lillepin follows the same editorial process.
1. Research
Every article begins with careful research. We use scientific studies, clinical guidelines and trusted medical sources to understand what the current evidence says.
2. Writing
We translate that evidence into clear, accessible language without losing the accuracy or nuance behind the research. Our goal is to explain, not to overwhelm.
3. Medical Review
Where appropriate, articles are independently reviewed by a qualified medical professional or expert to help ensure they are accurate, balanced and medically sound.
4. Publication
Only after this process is complete do we publish an article. We also review and update content as new evidence becomes available, helping ensure our information remains as accurate and current as possible.
As Lillepin grows, so will our editorial team and network of expert contributors—always guided by our commitment to clarity, accuracy and accessibility.
Meet the Lillepin Team
Behind every Lillepin article is a shared commitment to making health information easier to understand. Our editorial team combines careful research, clear writing, and expert review to help ensure every article is accurate, balanced, and genuinely useful for our readers.

Petra Rattue
Founder & Editor
Throughout my career, one thing has remained constant: a passion for helping people understand complex health information. I’ve seen how confusing and overwhelming health information can be, especially when it’s written for healthcare professionals rather than for people looking for answers.
My professional journey began with studying Sports Therapy at the London School of Sports Massage (LSSM) in London, UK, before qualifying as an Aromatherapy Therapist and Reiki Healer in Southampton. Later, I worked as a medical writer for Medical News Today and with patients from around the world at the World Stem Cells Clinic, helping them understand treatments and make informed decisions about their care. I am currently completing a Menopause Coach certification to further support Lillepin’s evidence-based approach to menopause education.
As Founder & Editor of Lillepin, I research health topics, translate scientific evidence into everyday language, and oversee the publication’s editorial direction and content quality. My role is to ensure every article reflects Lillepin’s commitment to clarity, accuracy, and accessibility, helping readers feel informed rather than overwhelmed and confident enough to have better conversations with the healthcare professionals who care for them.
